PAME is the focal point of the Arctic Council’s activities related to the protection and sustainable use of the Arctic marine environment and provides a unique forum for collaboration on a wide range of activities in this regard.

Day 1 of the @_Arctic_Circle kicks off with a break-out session on the achievements of the @ArcticCouncil Working Groups. With speakers from:
@CAFFSecretariat @EPPR_Arctic @PAMESecretariat @sdwgsecretariat @GenderArctic

Meeting the @CAFFSecretariat and @PAMESecretariat together with @PVuorimaki for very useful talks on current work issues like shipping, migratory birds and other areas of cooperation. We are all very jealous of that fantastic office view!

PAME II-2021 has now finished. Many thanks to all Members, Permanent Participants and Observers for your contributions. See you in Stockholm in February 💙

What a humbling experience to chair 165 marine experts from the Arctic countries and elsewhere during PAME II-2021. During the Swedish Chairmanship PAME (Arctic Council) works on 39 activities all related to increasing the protection of the Arctic Ocean.

PAME II-2021 is just about to start with Sweden chairing 2021-2023. The work plan covers 39 activities during this period. See more on
